Art on Script

I love this style of art. A simple idea but the finished result is really effective!

Season of Mists and Mellow Fruitfulness...

I love this time of year with the glorious prospect of Autumn just a stones throw away. I love to conjure up images of walking about in the countryside with the warming scent of bonfires in the distance.
There's a village next to mine that has a tiny green, a quaint little pub and a chocolate-box row of dinky cottages. A bench is aptly situated on the opposite side of the green, where it's rather pleasant to watch the world (mainly birds and dog walkers) go by. Behind the bench is a Norman church with a cobweb-filled graveyard.
The reason I'm telling you this, is that usually in the Autumn, the sexton is hard at work in the graveyard, raking up the leaves and then building a large bonfire. I love the aroma, the sound of twigs cracking as their sparks fly out and the way that the blue-grey smoke curls and whispers its way up into the damp, slightly earth-scented, air. It's like stepping back in time to the Victorian era where I'm waiting for Miss Mary to appear in search of the lost key to 'The Secret Garden'. So when I smell a bonfire, it makes me think of the next village with the little green.
Dewdrops clinging onto cobwebs, thick woolen jumpers, knee high boots and seeing your breath in the air as you breathe. All are my Autumnal delights! The thought of warming mash potato, that is like a hug from within, a hot steaming mug of chocolate with whipped cream and a bowl of my Mum's apple crumble and custard. Mmmmm! ... and I'm back!
It is my favourite season, and for me makes the hot summers worthwhile, as when the heat is near unbearable, I always remind myself that it's going to mean a beautiful Autumn, where the colours will blaze and shine out against the crisp blue sky.

Here are a few images of Autumn that I've found:
